What do we do in Albania?

The British Council has been working in Albania continuously since 1994, bringing international opportunities to life, every day. We work through partnerships and digital platforms from our Tirana office to reach people throughout Albania.

We create new opportunities and possibilities for people in the UK and Albania. We work with policymakers, public officials, academics, researchers, artists, sportspeople, scientists, curators, civil societies, creative entrepreneurs, head- and classroom teachers work through us develop policy, professional standards and participation in English, the Arts and Education. We connect with large numbers of aspiring young people by creating international opportunities for skills development and dialogue. In addition to these we develop and participate in many different projects themed around education and the arts.



We work with the best of British creative talent to develop innovative, high-quality events and collaborations with artists and cultural institutions in Albania. We find new ways of connecting and seeing each other through the arts.



Working with partners in the public and private sectors, as well as in civil society, the British Council promotes reforms, improves quality and enables access to high quality education while fostering greater cultural understanding between citizens of the UK and Albania.
