The British Council is excited to offer early-career women professionals in cybersecurity the opportunity to participate in a 2-day face-to-face leadership training, followed by a 2-month online mentoring programme (approx. 30 hours of engagement). This initiative is part of the CybHER project, funded by the UK Government and implemented by the British Council.
The programme is designed to empower and equip participants with the skills and confidence needed to advance in leadership roles within the cybersecurity industry.
Participants will:
- Develop authentic leadership skills by understanding personal values, styles, and emotional intelligence
- Explore cybersecurity career paths and identify opportunities for growth
- Gain strategies to overcome gender stereotypes and workplace barriers
- Strengthen networking and collaboration skills to build support, resilience, and collective growth
- Create a personal action plan to apply leadership insights in daily work.
Basic Eligibility:
- 2–5 years of overall work experience, including at least 1 year in cybersecurity
- Business-level English (B2+), as training will be delivered in English
- Commitment to fully attend the training and actively engage in the mentorship programme
Selection Criteria (beyond basic eligibility):
We are looking for women who bring motivation, leadership potential, and a passion for cybersecurity. Priority will be given to those currently working in cybersecurity roles, who can share and transfer knowledge within their organisations and communities.
We also aim to ensure geographical diversity and encourage applications from underrepresented groups.

- Co-delivered by leadership development and cybersecurity experts.
